Summer Programs

Notre Dame
Leadership
Seminar
(NDLS)

I attended the Notre Dame Leadership Seminar (NDLS), a fully funded program with a 9% acceptance rate that offers one college credit. The class I took was The Environment: Science, Ethics, and Policy, led by Professors Paola Crippa and Don Howard. We covered topics such as geoengineering, nuclear fission, climate science, and modeling. Our team presented our research project on the environmental injustice of sacrifice zones in the current PFAS “forever chemical” crisis and proposed solutions through policymaking after analyzing the 1970 ozone crisis.

Yale Young
Global
Scholars
(YYGS)

I attended the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) Solving Global Issues track, where I engaged in lectures and seminars that delved into current global challenges, ranging from inequality to climate change. Our team presented our environmental capstone project, “Bees for Trees,” aimed at addressing the decline of bumblebee populations in California farms through sustainable bee and crop management, supported by a $15,000 fund.
